Winners Announcement | The Design Files Kids Art Awards
The winners of The Design Files Kids Art Awards proudly presented by Honan Insurance Group have been announced with 5 talented young artists recognised in the National Online Art program supporting Children’s Ground – an organisation led by First Nations communities to facilitate lasting change over a 25-year period.
Children across the country were invited to create and submit an original artwork in any medium responding to this year’s theme; ‘home’ and entries were judged by iconic Australian artist Ken Done, beloved Melbourne illustrator and artist Beci Orpin, and artist and Kamilaroi/Gamilaraay/Gummaroi man Reko Rennie.
Winners and runners up
Now in its second year, this national art awards program celebrates kids’ unique creativity. The program aims to support Children’s Ground, a non-for-profit charity creating change within First Nations communities.
Young artists aged up to 16 were invited to create an A4-sized, 2-dimensional artwork in any medium, inspired by the theme ‘Home’.
Entrants were invited to paint or draw anything that reminds them of home. Their house, garden – or perhaps their bedroom? A treasured teddy or doll, a triumphant lego creation, a beloved pet, a family portrait – or a favourite home cooked dinner. Anything and everything that feels like home!
