Tusmore Park wading pool redevelopment

The Tusmore Park wading pool has been a fave for parents and kiddos alike for summer after summer (after summer!), however at over 50 years old, the pool has more than reached the end of its useful life and needs to be refurbished with a new facility… and parents of water loving kiddos can rejoice, because it’s happening!

In February – March 2020 community consultation took place to to determine what the community would like to see in its place.

Following this, four draft designs were developed. These were presented to the community for feedback in November РDecember 2020.

The community’s preferred design was a full wading pool with an additional ‘creek’ style section. This design was endorsed by Council in January 2021, and the project progressed to the detailed design stage.

The new design includes:

  • A new wading pool, with a new creek-style section
  • Tiered seating
  • Water play equipment
  • Removable fencing (the majority will taken down when the pool is empty)
  • A section of lawn to the east and north
  • Extended pool equipment and a storage shed

Construction is anticipated to occur in 2021/22, subject to development approval being granted… and we can’t wait to see the finished product!
