Tennyson Dunes Open Day
Coastal beauty spot, Wara Wayingga-Tennyson Dunes Conservation Reserve, will be a-buzz with activity on Sunday 22 September when its annual Open Day will bring hundreds of visitors to the seaside attraction.
Visitors can enjoy a range of FREE fun and educational activities:
Build a native bee hotel with Gardening Australia’s Sophie Thomson. Encourage native bees to the dunes to help pollinate vulnerable plants at this family friendly activity (1-3pm).
Fascinating guided tours led by experts to learn about the unique animals, plants and dune system. See website for full list and to book your spot.
Activities for children including Morialta Nature Play, Bugs ‘n’ Slugs, a sensory beach table and more!
A Mini Bio-Blitz where you get to help scientists identify native coastal species.
A micro-plastics survey with AUSMAP.
Sea Shepherd beach clean, children’s activities and ‘treasure’ hunt.
Learn about dolphins, butterflies, seashells and marine ecology at information stalls.
Browse stalls selling locally made, environmentally friendly gifts and native plants.
Kiwanis BBQ, coffee van and refreshments.
