HOWARD VINEYARD’S ROSE AND DUMPLING FESTIVAL ADELAIDE 2022

Summer wine lovers rejoice at Howard Vineyard in January next year, when the Rose and Dumpling Festival returns to satiate the palette and the stomach.

The festival will be one of the biggest Adelaide Hills wine events this summer, stretching across January 29 and 30 to showcase their vintages and create a family-friendly chilled atmosphere.

Amber Flavell, Brand Manager, says many wine enthusiasts are hanging out for a time when summer festivals are normal again.

“There was great demand for an event like the Rose and Dumpling Festival because people can’t wait for things to return to how they once were,” says Amber. “That’s why we’re throwing a Rose and Dumpling party and letting people enjoy our grounds, drink our wine and grab some great dumplings.”

Chang Koog Lee (Cookie), Head Chef, will be on site making his OG hand-rolled dumplings. This major highlight accompanies the Howard Vineyard rose ranges

The event sprang from an idea by Tom Northcott, Head Winemaker and General Manager, who was constantly searching for the world’s greatest rose and dumpling combination.

Live music will also be part of the day whilst the rose is flowing, and while parents eat dumplings to their heart’s content, kids will be provided with an ice block as part of their entry fee.

As a COVID-safe event, the Rose and Dumpling Festival will be abiding by state health guidelines.

Ice buckets cannot be offered on the day, but ice pouches will be available for purchase on the day to be placed in buckets brought along by patrons. Small buckets can also be filled with ice, but not larger vessels including iceboxes/Eskys. Hand sanitiser stations will be accessible across the vineyard, while each defined space has a marked maximum capacity. The outdoor bar and kitchen will be cashless on the day, so patrons are reminded to have card payment options prepared.

General admission is $15 per adult (plus booking fee), which includes event entry, a Riedel wine glass to keep, and a bottle of water. For children, entry is $5 (plus booking fee), which also includes a bottle of water, and an ice block. Seating for general admission tickets is not guaranteed – but purchasing the VIP entry option does allow access to the shaded VIP seating area.

VIP tickets are $150 per adult (plus booking fee), and also include event entry, an oyster tray and antipasto plate on arrival (portions allocated according to group size), two food tokens per person to order from the main food menu with an exclusive VIP only food queue, and a three-hour drinks package. This drinks package is from 12pm to 3pm only and includes wines from our 400 and Howard Vineyard ranges, beer, cider, juice, soft drink, and water.
