Grab a bucket & get cherry picking

Fleurieu Cherries offer pick-your-own on certain days only – depending on what fruit is ready and the weather forecast.

Before you travel to the farm gate, make sure to check the website to confirm if pick-your-own is available, as circumstances can change rapidly… ripe fruit for that day may have been picked by early afternoon!

The team at Fleurieu Cherries also make cherry relish, cherry jam and delicious cherry ice-cream!

If you’re not keen to pick-your-own, you can also buy cherries by the kilo, or relax on the lawn at the farm gate! And the best bit, you’re supporting local Adelaide growers and if you choose to take some time to cherry pick, you’re giving your kiddos an awesome outdoor experience while you’re at it!

Pick your own + Tasting Prices

Pick your own entry to the orchard is $6 for adults, $3 for kids (including tasting) and the fruit you pick is $14 per kilo.

The majority of the cherries are juicy and sweet, while the sour type are fantastic for pickling and making brandied or glacé cherries – offering a great opportunity to DIY Christmas gifts!

Some of the most popular varieties grown include ‘Van’, ‘Stella’ and ‘Lapin’ which are plump and juicy with a moderately crunchy flesh.

Fleurieu Cherries also grow some specialty types like white-fleshed cherries (‘Dame Nancy’) and extra large cherries (‘Glacier’).

The great thing about growing so many varieties is that they ripen one after the other, ensuring that the orchard at Fleurieu Cherries has plenty of fresh cherries available from early December through to after Christmas. You may even have a choice of multiple varieties when you visit the farm gate!
