A Good Place to START

Count your crayons and sharpen your pencils because school holidays are here and it’s time to get creative at the Art Gallery!

The Art Gallery of South Australia holds START at the Gallery on the first Sunday of every month. The program is a fun and FREE way to introduce little ones to the wonderful world of visual art. START includes art activities, tours, live performances and entertainment suitable for children (aged 3-12) and their families. With the Colours of Impressionism Masterpieces from the Musée D’Orsay and 2018 Adelaide Biennial currently exhibiting it’s also the perfect time to visit the Gallery.

The Gallery also runs a School Holiday Program with a dynamic range of workshops. These holidays you will find:

HYBRID CREATURES
Mon 16–Fri 20 April 10am, 11.30am, 1pm
Ages 5–12 years | $10 per child
Parent/guardian supervision required.
Draw, cut and combine the best qualities and the characteristics of animals you admire to create a super-powered hybrid creature.

DIGITAL STORYTELLING
Mon 23 – Tue 24 April 10am–1pm & 2–5pm
Ages 9–15 | $30 per participant
Everyone has a camera these days and a story to tell. Learn how to use photography to tell stories in this workshop with Nat Rogers, editorial and commercial photographer.

MAKE AN IMPRESSION – START
Sunday 6 May 11am–3pm
Ages 3 –12 | Free
Capture the moment and find out how light and colour can change a scene in art workshops and family tours that include music and performances.
